African Greys
These
parrots, originating from the Congo area of central Africa, have long been a
favourite pet in the UK.
The Congo Silver sub-species are classically coloured with mostly silver grey feathers, showing attractive scalloping over the chest, with a lighter grey head, but they have a very distinctive bright red tail.
Having been hand-reared from an early age and already tame, they can easily be trained, and are notable for being very playful. Being highly responsive and excellent mimics, they can also be taught to talk, and are amongst the best talkers of the parrot species.
Given care and attention , you will find owning a pet African Grey most rewarding, and as they can live for up to 70 years, it will be a long lasting experience.
